"I'm so thankful that I've
found this wonderful place and got to discover all its beauty,
scenery, wildlife, quietness, peace, and many more.... It
is my first time to Asia, but definitely an unforgettable
one! I enjoyed every minute here, even while I was sleeping.
I also learned a lot about herbs & spices, yoga, meditation
and myself. A great journey has just started! Thanks-I will
miss this place and your inspiring company, and your DELICIOUS
food! Lots of love, Dieke, Holland
"It is a funny thing to
realize after 54 year that I need to learn how to breathe..
I'm surprised I've made it this far holding my breath! In
only a week, years of solid and hard tension have been released
from my shoulder freeing my arms, breath and mind towards
new beginnings + new paths and strengthening the heart for
reconnection. This retreat combined perfectly space, time,
gentle beauty, nature, stillness all within a tender caring.
I do feel blessed." Love, Dr. Nigel- Perth Australia
" 'What I want is to see your face in
a tree, in the sun coming out, in the air' I have spent my
time here at SamyogaBali trying to 'see' the emptiness of
my inherent existence and my interdependence with everything;
so the quote seems very apt. I feel blessed t have found you
and this pace. The combination of yoga, massage, great food
and peacefulness that you have created for us this week has
added another wonderful dimension to our spiritual journey.
As I write, this I am breathing deeply into my heart and hoping
to send some of my feelings of warmth and gratitude to your
heart." With love, Jane Spry- Australia
"You teach me to embrace life and our
femininity. I will always treasure our friendship and your
wonderful hospitality. Thank you" With true love, May

"I'm glad that I came to this wonderful place and experienced
a different kind of life style that is so different from what
I'm having in Singapore. Thanks also for the yoga session,
although I felt that my body is breaking apart. I LIKE IT!
Thank you" All the Best, Peng-Singapore
"Thank you for having my
honeymoon on my own here! Loved it all - nature, peace, your
delicious food excellent staff and the nice conversations
we had. I will remember this time forever!" Love, Paula

"How wonderful it is -
to finally do nothing for a little while!!! I literally slept
for 3 days when I first arrived at this tranquil hideaway
(It took me that long to de-stress from overworking and traveling.)
Days spent here are idyllic - breakfast in bed (almost), get
some sun by the pool, read, lunch, afternoon drink and snack,
swing to the cool ocean breeze in the hammock, dinner, sounds
of the toads and insects, falling asleep in the tree house-like
cottage hanging in the space with all its opened doors and
distant lights below…. It was always an exciting event
awaiting for the surprises of the meals - for 2 weeks, I have
had different delicious dishes of exotic vegetables, organic
chicken, fresh fish, prawns - the mixing of Malaysian, Indian,
Thai and Indonesian sauces and spices! Oh, and the heavenly
therapeutic massages….SamyogaBali seems like a surreal
remote beautiful small universe in a crowded touristy place
of Bali - I hope it stays like this. Thank you for renewing
my spirit and body!." Eric-Pierre D, France/USA
"SamyogaBali - Just to
say it in one sentence: It was the most wonderful holiday
ever! I enjoyed my stay at the hills of SamyogaBali because
it has a very special, quiet and harmonic atmosphere there.
The owner, Leenar, takes care about you like if you ever have
been friends. You can do yoga, meditation or even just conversation
if you like to with her and you heart and soul brightens up
like the sun. Even if you just relax in the garden, enjoying
the pool, the great and tasty food you feel like being in
paradise. For me SamyogaBali is the best place to relax, to
discover myself more, to enjoy or just to be whatever I like
to be, just to feel however I feel. Going to SamyogaBali is
not like going on holiday it is like coming home to yourself."
Stefenie Ridder, Germany
"It's
good to wake up early in the morning, feeling the soft breeze
from the mountains entering through all the opened windows
of the room, which has a magnificent view over the sea and
the landscape around Lovina...Start the morning with yoga
classes with the nicest teacher of Lovina, Leenar. After that,
the nicest breakfast to recover your strength, with the freshest
fruits and whatever you ask for !
Then we can lazy our bodies in the swimming-pool, facing all
the landscape around...Or a massage...Or going downtown on
a rented motorbike...Or simply, doing nothing and relax...
This can be a all day program !
Meanwhile, delicious meals are served, if you want, in the
company of the nice owners, or by yourself, in the most preferred
corner of the farm... An early dinner also invites you to
relax and go to sleep early, because you get used to the rhythm
of nature in that lovely environment. At night, don't forget
to look at the amazing stars in the sky!
And when you leave SamyogaBali you just want to return and
enjoy that pleasant place again!" Pedro, Kiev Ukraine
"If
I ever need refuge, that is where I choose to go. When I arrived
on the hill I felt depleted, tired, and tense. In other words,
out of balance. As the days went by, I felt my whole being
relax and open to the beauty around me. The knots in my mind,
body and soul untied as I worked hard on yoga classes, breathing
deeply, detoxing.. as I nurtured myself with delicious, healthy
meals prepared with love and care... and as I let the beauty
and peacefulness around soaking in becoming part of my being.
Thank you Leenar and Peter for the love and simplicity you
put into everything.
Leenar, I love your relaxed, easygoing and wise approach to
life. It has brought so much into mine.
Thank you for caring and being there for us, making sure we
felt at home. Thank you, Ramida, for your strength, wisdom
and for the love you put in what you do. You were also vital
for my detox and unwinding process. I also wish to thank everybody
who works and lives on the hill and who help create this unique
atmosphere where I was able to come back to me, recovering
peace in my heart and soul. " Love,Teresa -Lisbon Portugal
"It's my third return to
SamyogaBali with friends and family. It is a magical place!
With its millions of stars in the night sky, the fresh cool
air, the unsurpassed service and the delicious food - it is
soothing to the body, mind and spirit. It's a place to return
to again and again." Lilik Mardianto, Jakarta Indonesia
'You know the lines from the
classic Rolling Stones song: "You can't always get what
you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find You get
what you need"
Well that pretty much sums up my chance encounter
with SamYoga Bali. I needed to relax, to unwind, to be still.
I needed the time and the space to stop. I got exactly that
and more. But it wasn't what I thought I wanted. The place
is stunning with magical views from the villas over the hills
to the water. I had the infinite pool to myself every day.
And I doubt you will ever have the chance to practice yoga
in a more tranquil and peaceful setting with the cool breeze
in your face. Your host, Lee Nar, and her assistants, attend
to your every need including wonderful local cuisine, massages
and however much interaction you may want. If you're lucky,
she may even lend you the book that happens to be perfect
for you. And if you're unlucky, you'll take her up on what
seems like a friendly offer of a game of table tennis only
to have your butt kicked.' Angus Allen, London/Perth
"My stay at SamyogaBali
was one of the most relaxing and developing times I've had.
The stillness of the hills, the superb healthy food, the friendly
staff and of course the daily yoga sessions all combined into
a quiet yet powerful experience. It was my first real meeting
with yoga and it changed me and my life a lot. The intensity
of the daily yoga lessons, the lack of stress factors and
the magic air of the hills all helped me to get past that
first obstacle where you are likely to give up and really
made me continue with yoga when I came home to Sweden. And
last but not least, the late dinners and interesting discussions
with Leenar made the stay complete." Niklas, Stockholm
Sweden
"Wake up to the morning-cacophony
of the birds that inhabit the lush forests around you. Join
the yoga morning session, or enjoy the valley views as your
healthy, made just as you like it, breakfast is being served.
As you will discover, the kitchen of Samyogabali is rich in
tastes and inventive, a fusion of south-east Asia put together
with care and pride. For our purpose, this tranquil and small
resort in the mountains was perfect. We had left the Norwegian
winter, our bags packed with books, research and laptops,
and came to Indonesia with the goal to do as much writing
as possible. Working, using the pool to cool down, riding
the scooter from village to village, napping in the hammock,
going down to Lovina-town for evening drinks and observing
the eccentric expat community; our one month at Samyoga now
feels both like it lasted for ever and that it passed all
to quickly. A great thanks to the wonderful staff and hosts."
Tone and Torgeir, Oslo, Norway
"The most important thing on holiday is to relax, enjoy
and have new experiences. While staying at Bali yoga we were
provided the environment to do that and more! The food was
wonderfully fresh and healthy, the service intuitive and the
hosts gracious. We are looking forward to escaping our hectic
lives to go back to this hill top paradise in the near future.''
Natalie Longman and Jordan Searle, England
"The guest apartments are
big & pleasant with a magnificent view over the Java Sea...The
garden is full of flowers and tropical trees and there is
a wonderful swimming pool with a breath-taking view...now
writing about our stay there in january 2008, makes us want
to go back there right away. It's such a peaceful place where
one can relax, do yoga, & swim, read or write or meditate...and
also eat deliciously! We love this place on beautiful Bali!!
An extraordinary fine kitchen, the
best! A toast on Samyoga Bali, a place with a soul and a heart,
beautiful, special, magical and fantastic!" Cristi &
Ben Bouwmeester-Kluivers from the Netherlands at SamYoga Bali
2008/january..
'Thank you so much for
the memorable thoroughly relaxing stay in the hill above
Lovina. We enjoyed the wonderful food and serenity and above
all, our conversations. Thank you for the warm welcome,
your openness and friendship. …Of our trips to Lombok
and Bali, we enjoyed staying at your place the most! We
will miss you and SamyogaBali." Best wishes, Daan &
Renate - Switzerland/Germany
"Your sweet thoughts are being carried trough the empty
space of the stars-filled sky and it's inspiring my heart.
I had such a meaningful trip in Bali and especially in your
place. It really allowed me to touch something very deep
in myself and to close a cycle of my life." Nicole
Maelle, Switzerland
"SamyogaBali is a marvelous destination;
small in scale with expansive views, wonderful contemporary
Balinese design and exceptionally healthy food." Din,
Southern California
"At SamyogaBali you can
escape from the hustle and bustle and tourism that pervades
the island of Bali. Practicing yoga while overlooking the
coast line of the island from high up the mountain, is almost
magical. Waking up to Balinese coffee, fresh fruits and a
dip in the pool, refreshes you for the rest of the day. Lunch
and dinner always to perfection - local, fresh grown, healthy
and oh so tasty. I loved getting up at dawn, listening to
the frogs, birds, and the adventures of my little friend,
Abu the cat." Fleur, California
"At SamyogaBali I learned
to live a spacious and wonderful lifestyle. I get to practice
meditation to pull myself out from a hectic mind. Thank you
for having me here. I really had a wonderful and most amazing
week…. I'll be back!" Peggy Yip, Seremban, Malaysia
Bali, Lovina (Jan 11-14 ‘07)
Lodging:
The best place we stayed the whole trip, samyoga Bali, samyogabali.com
is about 5km up the hill from Lovina, the place is brand new,
Balinese Villas, awesome views, infinity pool and incredible
home-cooked meals. AWESOME! It was definitely pricey for us,
but well worth it. The owner Leenar took care of us like royalty.
She specializes in yoga retreats (although we didn't’t
partake while we were there). She also speaks perfect English
and can be really helpful for finding the untouristy things
to do. Chris, Ukiah California Lonelyplanet
